Convincing solution for the Royal Library in The Hague

On 22.04.24, the contract for a highly compact, fully automated storage system was signed in a festive setting. In addition to the head of the Royal Library, Lilly Knibbeler, the Minister for Real Estate, Yvonne van der Brugge, and 20 invited guests were present at the signing of the contract in The Hague. Our tailor-made special solution comprises a 5-aisle fully automated channel storage system for 260,000 containers, including control and conveyor technology for the new book storage facility. This will store and retrieve the millions of stored books, newspapers and magazines compactly, efficiently and securely. Construction will start immediately in May 2024 and commissioning is planned for the end of 2027.

"We are delighted to be able to realize this exciting flagship project for the National Library of the Netherlands. By storing over 120 kilometers of written heritage. There were very specific challenges for which our team developed this unique technology solution. Many thanks to those responsible at the Royal Library for their trust and to everyone involved in the project", Jürg Frefel, Group CEO.
